Canadian standup comedian Russell Peters is set to tour India in March as part of his Relax World Tour and perform in Pune, among many cities.

Peters, famous for drawing huge crowds worldwide with his observational humour and audience engagement, has performed in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and the Middle East, among others. He is returning to India, where he has ancestral roots and “one of my favourite places to visit”, for his sixth tour. This tour is expected to be his biggest engagement with audiences in India.

Peters will start the tour in Delhi on March 15, with Pune as his second stop in India. On March 18, the standup will be at Amanora Mall in Hadapsar. The three-hour event will begin at 7 pm. Tickets are priced upward of Rs 2,000.

After Pune, the comedian will travel to Bengaluru on March 20, Mumbai on March 22, Hyderabad on March 25, Chennai on March 27 and Kolkata on March 29. “From family quirks to cultural clashes and everything in between, he knows exactly how to leave you in splits,” says his publicity material.

On social media, reviews for Peters’s latest show, Relax World Tour, range from “engaging” and “funny” to “dull” and “disappointing”.

Among the shows that he has visited in India are Somebody! Tour in 2007, the Notorious World Tour in 2013, and Act Your Age World Tour in 2024. Apart from cracking up audiences with jokes, Peters is also a producer and has won an Emmy for the documentary series Hip Hop Evolution.

What is less known is that Peters trains in jiu-jitsu with the Black Belt Jean Jacques Machado. In December 2025, Peters shared a photograph of his instructor presenting him with a purple belt.
