CHANDIGARH, Feb 24: Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union PCCTU has criticised the revision of pay scales by the Punjab Government. The general secretary of PCCTU, Dr V K Tewari stated that the union would be resorting to mass casual leave and would march to the Vidhan Sabha on March 12 to protest against what he called unjust fixation of their salary.
Tewari alleged that the Punjab Government was apart from delaying the matter, also seeking to deny the approved structure of pay scales. In a press statement, Tewari stated that when the Rastogi panel submitted its report, both the University Grants Commission UGC and Ministry of Human Resource Development carried a review of the panel. This is now being further reviewed by the Punjab Government, Tewari alleged. He pleaded for the immediate implementation of the UGC notification.
