MUMBAI, JULY 2: Maharashtra’s Parikshit Shetty won the 100m breast stroke gold at the 16 sub-junir National swimming and aquatics Championship being held at New Delhi.

According to reports reaching here, Parikshit clocked 1 minute 16.40 seconds to keep at bay strong challenges by Manipur’s I Shivananda and Karnataka’s Rehan Poncha.

The boys relay team, comprising Parikshit, Nim Kwan Shu, Karan Hagpal and Saurab Mundra timed 2 minutes 10.47 seconds to clinch the 4×50 gold ahead of Karnataka and Bengal.

RESULTS

Boys: 200 m freestyle: 1 Rehan Poncha (Kar) 2:08.45; 2 Parikshit Shetty (Mah); 3 Arjun Muralidharan (Mah).

100 m breast stroke: 1 Parikshit Shetty (Mah) 1:16.40; 2 I Shivananda (Mani); 3 Rehan Poncha (Kar).

4×50 m medley relay: 1 Maharashtra (Parikshit Shetty, Nim Kwan Shu, Karan Nagpal, Saurab Mundra) 2:10.47; 2 Karnataka; 3 Bengal.

One metre spring board diving: 1 Swaraj Patil (Mah) 200.65 points; 2 Rahul Kutre (Kar); 3 Romli Savla (Mah).

Girls: 200 m freestyle: 1 Ambica Iyengar (Kar) 2:24.68; 2 Meenakshi Tokas (Del); 3 Manasi Shelke (Mah).

100 m breast stroke: 1 Ambica Iyengar (Kar) 1:26.57; 2 S Sampada (Kar); 3 Shruti Gupta (Del).

4×50 m medley relay: 1 Maharashtra (Minita Shah, Anshuka Parvani, Mansi Shelke, Shruti Reddy) 2:19.76; 2 Karnataka; 3 Tamil Nadu.

1 m spring board diving: 1 Avni Shah (Mah) 166.55 points; 2 Mou Bhattacharya (Ben); 3. L Kamla Devi (Man).
