
On the second day of the Vikas Yatra, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today called upon the people of Punjab to oust Congress to pave the way for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance NDA government at the Centre in the ensuing parliamentary polls.
Addressing two separate rallies at Zira and Makhu in Ferozepur district, Badal said the people of Punjab had a lot of expectations from the UPA government, but they were dejected due to the 8220;step-motherly8221; treatment meted out to the state.
Badal said the Centre should come up with a permanent solution for a remunerative MSP for farmers, which could include linking it with consumer price index.
Badal announced development grants worth Rs 104 crore for execution of various projects and schemes in Zira and Makhu areas.
