Rent Control ordinance introduced

The state government introduced the Bombay Rent Control ordinance for a simple extension of the present interim Act which expires on March 31, 1999 by a year on the first day of the Budget session today. The Rent Act ordinance was passed by the Centre yesterday.

Censor yet to clear Ambedkar film

The film based on the life of Dr B R Ambedkar being produced by the NFDC is complete and has been sent to the Censor Board for approval, Information and Public Relation Minister Gajanan Kirtikar today said. He said Malayalam superstar Mammooty who plays the title role was unable to give dates for dubbing.

Naik8217;s plea on threat to life

Sacked minister and Shiv Sena rebel MLA Ganesh Naik has received threats to his life, according to a complaint registered with the police by his secretary Ashok Pohekar. The threat, through a letter comes in the wake the withdrawal of Z8217; category security to Naik.
