Mayor expresses concern over high election expenses

CHANDIGARH, SEPT 14: The city Mayor, Kewal Krishan Adiwal has expressed serious concern over increasing election expenses, saying it has crossed Rs 1.3 crore per candidate.

Favouring government funding of election expenses to only serious candidates , he said that politicians got themoney from businessmen who did it to get favourable policies. He also favoured empowering masses with the Right to Recall8217; representatives who fail to keep election promises.
