Iron gets hot

It is almost like a rebirth for BJP leader L K Advani. After the Jinnah episode, the Lauh Purush went into a virtual sulk and refused to take any initiative within the party. His refrain till last month was that he had always fought against the enemy outside the BJP and not within.

But last week, he suddenly seems reinvigorated. At the party8217;s national executive, Advani, never a great orator or a diplomat, delivered it plain and simple to BJP President Rajnath Singh and his sponsors in Nagpur. He followed this up with a forceful intervention on the controversies surrounding the Pratibha Patil issue. This would have certainly put Rajnath Singh on red alert.
