PSCB win chess title
MOGA: Top seed and favourites Petroleum Sports Control Board (PSCB) team annexed the 21st National Team Chess Championship by defeating second seeded Bank Sports Board in the seventh and final round with a narrow 2.5-1.5 margin here on Sunday.
PSCB topped with 19.5 point and won the championship a clear point ahead of runners-up Tamil Nadu who could not keep up with PSCB’s giant killing spree and had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Indian Airlines in the last round.Final standings: 1 PSCB 19.5 pts; 2 Tamil Nadu 18.5; 3 ICF 17.5; 4 BSB 17.5; 5 IA 17; 6 LIC 16.5.
