VADODARA, Nov 17: The Gujarat Refinery has completed 1500 Safe Working Days without Any Lost Time Accident8217; on November 1, thus achieving the target fixed by P S Rao, Executive Director, Gujarat Refinery way back in 1997.

Gujarat Refinery has continuously worked for 61.69 million man hours without Any Lost Time Accident8217; as per National Norms. This is the highest achievement by any Indian Refinery.

To celebrate the occasion, a function was organised in the newly built Fire Station of Gujarat Refinery on November 2.

The function was chaired by P S Rao, Executive Director, Gujarat Refinery and the Chief Guest was B N Mehta, Chief Inspector of Factories, Gujarat State. B P Parmar, Sr Inspector of Factories, Baroda Region also attended the function. On this occasion P S Rao fixed a new target of 2500 days.

Mehta inaugurated a new fire tender developed by the Gujarat Refinery. This fire tender is capable of high volume stream of 2000 amp; 1000 GPM foam and water. It can also enter any of the process unit with easy manouverability. Thi will help in fighting tall column fires and fires inside pump houses.

Parmar praised the management and workmen for achieving level-5 of the international safety rating system in the initial audit by DNV.

Customers meet for transporters at Gujarat Refinery : Indian Oil Corporation is celebrating 1999 as quot;Customer Service Yearquot;. In continuation of the activities planned for better customer services, Gujarat Refinery organised a customers meet for transporters on October 29. Representatives of various All India Transporters attended this meet.

From the IOCL a top management team lead by P S Rao, Executive Director, interacted with the delegates in Ed8217;s Conference Hall. N K Khosla, Dy General Manager Technical Services welcomed the delegates and highlighted their contributions in the achievement of greater heights by IOCL, G N Zutshi, Commandant, CISF briefed them about the current security environment.

Rao appreciated the transporters8217; role in the timely delivery of materials which contributed a lot for the timely completion of projects and day-to-day running of refinery. He deliberated about investments of the order of Rs 7,000 crores at Gujarat Refinery in next three or four years time and requested all stake holders to work jointly to achieve this ambitious goals.

The transporters assured all help to achieve timely completion of projects and thanked Gujarat Refinery Management for this participative interaction. Rao assured that any problem faced by transporters would be death with promptly.
