
Delay in getting the Supreme Court8217;s certified order granting interim bail to Sanjay Dutt forced the actor to spend one more day in Yerawada Jail where he is serving his 6-year sentence. Dutt is likely to be released on Wednesday.
The SC had on Monday granted interim bail to Dutt and five others convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case till the Special TADA court handed it a copy of the judgment. 8220;We got the certified copy of the order at about 6 pm today. We will go to the Special TADA court tomorrow and furnish the bail bond,8221; said Dutt8217;s lawyer, Karan Singh. After this, a copy of the memo and the SC order will be sent to Yerawada jail.
Meanwhile, outside the Yerawada Jail, hundreds of fans who had been waiting since morning, chanted slogans seeking Dutt8217;s release. DIG Prisons Ravindra Kedari said, 8220;The release warrant of Dutt has not reached the jail office yet.8221;
