Demand for Sirmour146;s development

Various volunteer organizations of Sirmour today protested the state government proposal to shift the steel plant unit of Steel Authority of India from Nahan to Kandrori in Kangra district.

The residents met under the banner of Nagrik Sabha. Those present on the occasion included Chairman Anjuman Islamia Yaqub Beg, president Vaishia Sabha PC Aggarwal, Chairman Koli Sabha Dalip Singh Verma, president Brahman Sabha Nardev Sharma, Rajput Sabha8217;s Naresh Kumar Solanki and Member Mahila Sabha Dayavanti. They said an agitation would be launched if the government did not take major efforts to develop Sirmour.

Challans for violation of traffic rules

Chief Judicial Magistrate Nahan today challaned more than 58 vehicles for various violations of motor safety rules and other regulations, like driving without helmet, without a Pollution Control Certificate etc. He said that the vehicle drivers must adhere to traffic rules in order to ensure their safety.
