It read, "This is not just a career-in Utcham.
This is the result of hard work, discipline, and unwavering dedication,
a man who gave his art honestly and made millions smile for more than three decades.
We didn’t just watch him.
We grew with him.
We lived with him.
We loved him.
Our Anna.
Our Man.
Our Thalapathy Vijay.
This is not a crowd gathered for an event.
This is a generation standing together,
for love, loyalty, and a bond built over decades.
Idhu thani oru manithanin padai.
Anna, we will always love you.
Seeing you on the big screen itself was a celebration, a happiness, a festival-
and you gave us that joy, year after year, without fail.
We will miss you deeply.
The FDFS madness,
the success meets,
the audio launches,
your kutty stories,
your songs, dance,
those humorous moments
and those cute expressions
Some stars shine.
But some become a part of our lives.
You are one of them.
Forever.
Some heroes create records.
But very few create memories.
You did both.
And more.
No matter where life takes you,
you will always live in our hearts,
in our memories,
in every cheer inside a theatre.
Forever our Thalapathy.
Forever our Anna.
#onelasttime"

Sharing why he is stepping away from cinema, Vijay says, "For me, one thing matters. People come and stand in theatres for me. For that reason, I’m ready to stand for them for the next 30–33 years. For these Vijay fans, I’m stepping away from cinema."
He added, "I’ve faced every kind of criticism right from day one, the same old story. But my fans have stood by me from the very beginning, supporting me relentlessly for 33 years. That’s why, for the fans who stood for me, I will stand for them. This Vijay will repay his debt of gratitude."

This is a 100% Thalapathy film, and it’s going to be a complete commercial treat in theatres."
At the event, Pooja Hegde expressed her disappointment at Jana Nayagan being Vijay's last film. She said, "Vijay sir, I had so much fun working with you in Beast. People keep asking me when 'Arabic Kuthu' Part 2 is coming. There’s so much to learn from you. You’re the most professional star I’ve worked with. Such a huge star, yet so humble. I want to be like you. I’m really sad this is your last film."
At the event, Jana Nayagan music director Anirudh Ravichander reflected on his early career, recalling that he was just 21 when Vijay placed his trust in him with Kaththi, then one of the biggest projects in Tamil cinema. But the people who stand by you are like roots, Vijay na. They will never leave you." After completing his speech, Atlee walked up to Vijay and hugged him.
Atlee called Vijay 'genuinely nice man' and said, "Ennoda Anna. Ennoda Thalapathy. When I was an AD, on my last day, he called me and told me, You are working really well and hard. If you have a story, let me know. At that time, he had already completed 50 films. No big star who has reached that milestone would usually do something like this. He is a genuinely nice man."
Director Nelson Dilipkumar spoke about his friendship with Vijay. He said, "When @Jagadishbliss called me for the launch, the first thing I asked was whether they would arrange the tickets or if I should do it myself. The reason is, I made a film called #beast, and it received mixed reviews. Even after that, he kept calling me every day to check on me. I once asked him if he was upset with me. He replied, ‘Is a film what decides my friendship with you?’ I share a very personal bond with him. Thalapathy Vijay is like a brother to me."
