PATIALA, Oct 7: AICC member and former Punjab Minister Brahm Mohindra criticised the policy of discontinuing the teaching of Punjabi language in all 52 Central schools in Punjab.
In a statement released here to the press Mohindra condemned the Akali-BJP coalition government for deviating from their prime responsibility of protecting the interests of Punjab and the wrong intention of the Central Government. It may be recalled that 52 Central schools of Punjab which come under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Ministry of Human Resource Development have stopped the teaching of Punjabi.
Mohindra added that the Akalis have succumbed to pressure of BJP as is evident from the present example of discontinuing of Punjabi teaching in Punjab.
