Congmen protest

CHANDIGARH, April 8: A rally was staged by the members of District Congress Committee Urban here today in Sector 17 plaza. They later staged a dharna in front of the deputy Commissioner8217;s office.

The members condemned the policies of the BJP government at the Centre and a delegation, led by P. C. Puri, president of the committee, presented a memorandum to the DC. These demands also included the dismissal of BJP government at the Centre, as they alleged it had failed on all fronts.

They also demanded that a Joint Parliamentary Committee be set up to look into the alleged charges of corruption against sacked Navy Chief, Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat.

Their problems highlighted in the memorandum included removal of violation clause from the affidavit to be given by CHB property owners in UT, and ownership rights to holders of properties under the power of attorney.
