Pradip Bhattacharya, the working president of the state Congress, said the Congress has not lost its ground despite some of its leaders leaving the party. “Some leaders have deserted us but Congress workers at the grassroots are still with the party,” he said at a press conference at the state Congress headquarters at Bidhan Bhavan on Saturday. Bhattacharya added that the results of the recent Assembly elections have proved that the base of the party has not been eroded.
