Independent candidates get the

Day 1 blues

The first day of filing nominations turned out to be a dampener for enthusiastic independent candidates, who turned up in full fervour to fill in their forms, courtesy ignorant election officers.

With political bigwigs like the BJP and the Congress yet to finalise their candidates, barely 15 forms were given out and many dejected candidates claimed the officers were clueless about these forms and the necessary details, resulting in no nomination forms being filled today.

Candidates kept running from pillar to post collecting information and passing it on to the deputy commissioners for the benefit of other candidates, who will turn up in the days to follow.
