CHANDIGARH, May 25: The Chandigarh Cricket Association, affilited to the Punjab Cricket Association today conducted the selection trials to choose probables who will represent Chandigarh in the forthcoming Punjab Inter-District Under-16 Cricket Tournament.
According to CCA secretary Mohinder Singh more than 120 enthusiastic budding cricketers appeared for the trials conducted at the DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8. As there was a big response, the CAA has decided to select 35 probables for training camp. Earlier, the association had proposed to conduct the camp at the DAV School, Sector 8, from June 1. However, the date of camp had to be changed due to the Punjab Inter-District Summer Cricket tournament.
The trials lasted more than three hours. Mohinder Singh said that the association had chalked out a detailed programme for the Chandigarh crickters. Video films of the players would be taken and the boys would be shown their defects and coaches would take full care to improve the skills of the trainees.
