
NSE, BSE record high turnover
MUMBAI: The two premier stock exchanges recorded huge turnover on Wednesday. The Bombay Stock Exchange BSE recorded a turnover of Rs 2,788.82 crore while the National Stock Exchange registered a turnover of Rs 3,594.53 crore. On the BSE, as much as Rs 2583.58 crore came from the A group, Rs 172.15 from the B1 group, Rs 20.57 crore from the B2 group and Rs 0.17 crore from the F1 group. Only 2,143 scrips traded out of 7567 total scrips on the BSE in total 306,723 trades. On the NSE, in 4,27,488 trades, 1078.25 lakh shares worth Rs 3,594.53 crore changed hands.
Chanda new CGM for Gujarat Telecom
MUMBAI: P K Chanda, principal general manager operations of MTNL, Mumbai, has been promoted as chief general manager, Gujarat Telecom Circle of DoT, Ahmedabad. Chanda, who had joined MTNL, in December 1997 was responsible for overall operations of telecom services in Mumbai.
Tata income fund pays 5 pc dividend
MUMBAI: TATA Mutual Fund TMF declared atax free dividend of five per cent for the first six months under the regular income option of its income fund. TMF is planning to change the periodicity of dividend distribution from every six months to quarterly. The five per cent tax-free dividend means an effective return of 5.62 per cent for the investors or 11.24 per cent on an annualised basis.
RoC shifts Thane cos to new office
MUMBAI: The Department of Company Affairs Western Region has said all records relating to companies with their registered offices in Thane and Raigad, till now maintained at the RoC offices at Marine Drive and Kalachowkie, will now be maintained at the following address: Office of the RoC, Central Government office Bldg, CGO Complex, A8217; Wing, IInd floor, Belapur 8211; CBD, Navi Mumbai 400614 Tel No 757 6802 with effect from October 1. These companies have been asked to file the returns at the above address.
