Tata Power has hardened its stand on the payment of standby charges of Rs 159 crore by power supplier, BSES by ruling out any compromise in this regard. Addressing the annual general meeting of TEC here today, chairman Ratan Tata said that BSES will have to fulfill its legal obligation. "There is no question of any compromise on this issue, BSES will have to pay up standby charges to TEC," he said.

Tata said the government is taking necessary step and hoped that the matter would be resolved soon. "TEC will pay the balance standby charges to MSEB once BSES makes the payment of Rs 159 crore to it," he noted.

Says ICICI’s joint managing director & chief operating officer, Lalita D Gupte, "The site will help the customer to have a consolidated view of all ICICI relationships at one place and do an online transaction on all the products such as bank, credit cards, loan, demat and bond accounts. ICICI will adapt the content and presentation of the sites to suit different devices like cable TV once the broadband technology is introduced on a larger scale in the market."

Franchising meet
MUMBAI:
Tefla’s Conference and Events Pvt Ltd in association with the Franchise Association of India and Seco Global View is all set to ignite the franchise bug with a series of conferences and exhibitions under the banner `Franchising India 2000′ across ten cities – New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune Calcutta, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Indore and Chandigarh – from August to December. In Mumbai, the meet will be held on October 1-2.
