(AP Photo)Bangladesh Protest & Violence Against Hindus Today News Live Updates: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday said that the two prime suspects in the murder of Inqilab Moncho founder Osman Hadi, who had fled to India through the Haluaghat border in Mymensingh, were arrested, Prothom Alo reported. The suspects crossed into the Indian state of Meghalaya with the help of local associates, DMP Additional Commissioner SN Nazrul Islam told reporters.
Meanwhile, Inqilab Moncho Saturday announced all-out blockades in all divisional cities, beginning 2 pm on Sunday, demanding justice for founder Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, who was assassinated earlier this month. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali, sharing progress on the probe uncovering those behind Hadi’s killing, told Daily Star, “Within the next 10 days, that is, by January 7, the charge sheet will be submitted.”

The protests in Bangladesh over the lynching of Dipu Chandra Das have found supporters in the West, with the Californian representative in the US, Ro Khanna, condemning such “vile acts of hatred and bigotry.” “The killing of Dipu Chandra Das, a 27-year-old Hindu garment worker in Bangladesh is horrific and my thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family,” he wrote over a post on X. Moreover, the Bangladesh Hindu Association protested the killing of Hindus, including Amrit Mondal, in front of the Bangladesh High Commission in London on Saturday. While Das was killed in Mymensingh, Mondal was beaten to death in Rajbari district. So far, 18 arrests have been made in the Dipu Das lynching case.
