Siemens bags Rs 100 cr order

MUMBAI: Siemens will be supplying the entire electrical equipment worth Rs 100 crore on a turnkey basis for the new Mine 1A being developed to feed lignite to the 250 MW power plant of Neyveli Lignite Corporation NLC. The order for supplying the equipment has been received through five Original Equipment Manufacturers OEMs, namely Mcnally Bharat, Elecon, Lamp;T, Krupp and Man-Takraf to whom NLC has contracted the job. These OEMs have in turn subcontracted the entire electricals to Siemens Ltd and Siemens AG.

HOCL strategy to enter global market

MUMBAI: In a bid to gain competitive edge in the global market, the public sector mini navaratna, Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited HOCL has embarked upon a multi-pronged plan to expand its core business.

The company has lined up plans to consolidate its leadership position in nitro-aromatics by adding new capacities in line with international standards both in terms of operations and technology, a company statement said today. 8220;Under the ninth five year investment plan the company has worked out a strategy whereby it will primarily be expanding in core business, value addition and vertical integration,8221; it said. HOCL would reduce fixed costs and take up targeted productivity and efficiency improvement programmes by initiating management audit in critical areas.
