The year 2025 saw rising valuations and shifting market power, with Forbes noting the rise of 3,028 billionaires globally with a combined net worth of $16.1 trillion.

This year saw big wins for most of the world’s billionaires, as their fortunes rose, especially the top ten biggest billionaire gainers of all, adding more than $729 billion to their already-staggering wealth over the past year, according to Forbes.

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, is the biggest billionaire gainer in 2025, with his net worth having grown by more than $333 billion, or $935 million per day.

At the start of the year, Musk’s net worth was $421 billion. In October, he became the first person in history to reach a net worth of $500 billion.

He then surpassed $600 billion the following Monday and reached $700 billion in net worth by Friday.

Notably, Americans account for six of the top 10 gainers, accounting for more than 85 per cent of the total dollar amount acquired by the group, and five of them are tech billionaires.
