Summer brings with it excessive perspiration and one way of dealing with it is frequent bathing. How many of us make bathing a beauty ritual? Usually it is a rushed affair, before leaving the house for work.

The working woman especially, should reserve one day for beautification, which should begin with a long luxurious soak aided with bath salts, body wash gels, body scrubs and aromatherapy. Bath oils which have lavender, rose and geranium are extremely relaxing. Bath equipment should include loofahs, sponges, pumice stones and the like. If you want to make the most of your time in the tub, keep the temperature warm but comfortable. Very hot water is drying. Don8217;t soak for more than 10 minutes or you could suffer from an energy dip. Add your favourite perfume to your bath water to make it a pleasurable experience. Lie back in the tub and try to keep your mind blank. Let your arms and legs float in the water and relax. If it is a shower you are having, begin with a warm shower and end it with cold one so that it closes the pores.

If you have dry skin opt for a milk bath. In warm water put 250 gms of powdered milk, half a teaspoon of almond oil and let the wholesome foam work wonders and nourish your skin. For withered skin add two tablespoons of olive oil to the water. Scaly skin can be cured by a saline bath. Add table or rock salt to your bath water. In winter, massage your body with olive or coconut oil blended with a few drops of rose water 10 minutes before your bath. To remove scars from the body use neem juice in your bath water.

Another bath that has many advantages is a sea weed bath, especially beneficial for people who are afflicted by chronic fatigue, rheumatism, anaemia, old age and obesity . A hot sea weed bath raises the temperature of the skin while the body relaxes and rids itself of toxic matter and allows the elements in sea-weed to penetrate the skin. For best results go in for atleast 15-20 baths spread over a month. In order to increase the efficiency, combine with eucalyptus, arnica, menthol and oil of camphor. These will help tone up the entire system and give vitality. The iodine in sea-weed helps to revitalise the entire system through the thyroid gland.

And even if you are opting for your regular soap and water regimen, make it more special by using a pre-bath gel containing turmeric, curd and lemon. Defuzzing superfluous hair is also best done before a bath. Once you have finished bathing, towel dry vigorously which will help improve circulation. As you dry your hands and feet, press back the cuticles. Use an underarm deo, a body splash and powder yourself. Sounds great doesn8217;t it? Well, didn8217;t know beauty begins from your bath?
