PUNE, Sept 27: Officals of the Armament Research and Development Establishement ARDE had a busy day answering queries and volunteering information as over 70,000 people visited the one-day exhibition held on Saturday.

The exhibition had the latest in Indian armaments on display, including Pinaka 8211; the multibarrel rocket launcher system, advanced fuses and sensors, anti-tandem warhead system for Nag8217;, pre-fragmented warhead system for Trishul8217;, pre-fragmented warhead system for Akash8217;, remotely delivered mines, cluster bombs which have 147 bomblets, and the 5.56 mm Indian small arms system INSAS. The exhibition was inaugurated by Defence Research and Development Organisation chief controller 8211; research and development P.U. Deshpande.

The runaway denial penetrating submunition warhead which is under development for defeating for large area hardened targets like runaways, hardened aircraft shelters, command bunkers and industrial complexes had curious people craning their necks for a glance. Rakshak, the life saving boat which can be air-dropped and innovative ejection system for pilots in crisis which have been developed for the first time in the premier DRDO laboratory was also displayed at the exhibition. A video show was held at various intervals for visitors.
