A departmental inquiry has been ordered and two senior police officials attached in connection with the alleged suicide of a policeman in Jammu. A Personal Security Officer has also been suspended in this connection. Police driver Shahid Hussain allegedly committed suicide at the residence of Deputy Superintendent of Police Indian Reserve Police (IRP) in Jammu on Saturday,officials said. Two Deputy SPs Daljeet Singh and Mohinder Singh of IRP were attached with DIG IRP Jammu and PSO Constable Ajay Kumar has been placed under suspension,officials sources said. Hussain,a driver with Deputy SP Daljeet Singh shot himself with a service rifle of Ajay Kumar-PSO of Deputy SP Daljeet Singh at the residence of Dy SP at Sainik Colony here on Saturday. Hussain's father Abdul Qayoom along with relations resorted to protest demonstrations in Jammu and Rajouri for a punishment to erring officers,who had not granted him leave for his marriage on December 11. Qayoom blamed that his son was forced to commit suicide due to harassment of officers of IRP battalion who did not grant him leave.
