Lokesh Kanagaraj unveils Sanjay Dutt’s look from Leo: ‘Meet Antony Das’

Sanjay Dutt is celebrating his 64th birthday today, and Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director of his upcoming film Leo, celebrated by sharing a montage clip from the upcoming Vijay-starrer, which features the Bollywood star. Sanjay looks menacing in the video and comes across as a gangster. His name is revealed as Antony Das.

The clip opens with a sculpture of an eagle, which led fans to speculate if the film has something to do with Lokesh’s previous blockbuster, Vikram. The colour palette and tone of the promo are also similar to what was seen in Vikram and Kaithi, which are part of what is being called Lokesh’s Cinematic Universe. There are also speculations that the film is inspired by David Cronenberg’s A History of Violence, which is about a former gangster living under a new identity. When a violent incident puts him on national TV, his elder brother comes back looking for him to settle the score.

Sanjay Dutt is rumoured to be playing the elder brother in Leo. However, no official statements have been made about such speculations.

Sharing the promo, Lokesh Kanagaraj wrote, “Meet #AntonyDas. A small gift from all of us to you @duttsanjay sir! It was indeed a pleasure to work with you!”

Leo marks the debut of Sanjay Dutt in Tamil. He has earlier made his debut in Kannada with Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2.

Other than Sanjay Dutt, the film also has Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Anurag Kashyap, Trisha, Priya Anand, and Sandy. Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for the film, which will be released in October. Meanwhile, the makers are planning an audio launch event in Tamil Nadu.
