Mimicry artist Pala Suresh, known for his impressions of former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy, found dead in his rented house
Suresh Krishna, aka Pala Suresh, reportedly had a heart condition and had been undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College.

Renowned mimicry artist Suresh Krishna, popularly known as Pala Suresh, was found dead at his rented house in Piravom, Ernakulam district, on Sunday. The 53-year-old impressionist reportedly had a heart condition and had been undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College. He breathed his last at his rented house near Thekkumuttipadi in Piravam.
Suresh did not come out of his room on Sunday morning, which left his family perturbed. Though they knocked on his door, no response came from the other side, prompting them to break it open, only to find him unresponsive, as reported by Mathrubhumi. Although Suresh was rushed to the taluk hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival. Preliminary assessments concluded that he died of cardiac arrest in his sleep.
A veteran of Kerala’s mimicry scene, Pala Suresh rose to fame through mega and stage shows and was a part of the cultural landscape for over three decades. He became a household name in the state through his seamless impression of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, which became his signature act.
In addition to stage performances, he also acted in a handful of films, soap operas, and television comedy programmes. His performance as a journalist in director Martin Prakkat’s ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi (2013) received praise. The film featured Dulquer Salman, Jacob Gregory, Tovino Thomas and Aparna Gopinath in lead roles. Besides working as a professional artist in the Kollam Narma troupe, he was also an active member of the stage group Cochin Rasika.
Hailing from Vellilappally in Ramapuram, Kottayam district, he was the son of the late Balachan and Omana. He is survived by his wife, Deepa, and their two children: Devananda, a nursing student in Germany, and Devakrishna.
