Homebound, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, is competing in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival. Co-produced by Dharma Productions, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta, the film tells a raw, emotional story of two childhood friends in a small North Indian village.

Speaking about Homebound, Karan Johar told Gallata Plus, “All those cinema intellectuals will go to town and talk about All We Imagine As Light—I loved that film and have a lot of regard for Payal Kapadia, please don’t judge me wrong. They will gush about it, but not one person will write that a mainstream studio has an officially selected film (Homebound) at Cannes.”
