Wherever Guneet Monga goes, the Oscar statuette follows her. Now, the producer who has brought the Oscar trophy twice to the country, has opened up about how, now a days when she traverses airport security, while checking her bags, they have asked her to show the Oscar statuette and have clicked pictures with it. In the recent episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, which celebrated the leading ladies of India by inviting Guneet Monga, Sudha Murty and Raveena Tandon, who was recently awarded the Padma Shri. In the show, when Kapil Sharma asked Guneet, "when your relatives come to meet you, do they click pictures with you first or the (Oscar) trophy?" To which Guneet replied by saying, "With the trophy, I don't think anybody wants a picture with me, everybody is like give this to me," here Kapil lauds her and says, “if it wasn't for you, how would the trophy come here," and claps. Kapil then asks Guneet, since she has so much experience with the Oscars, do people from the industry call her and ask her to share the recipe to Oscars, to which Guneet replied by saying, “of course, people call and ask me how we did it and how we can do it. There are some things that need to be done. Now, through your show I can tell them all at once, since everybody watches your show, that it is important to have US distribution. That's where it all starts.” Guneet then shared how immigration has asked if they have have a picture with the Oscar statuette. She said, “I have this black fabric that I use to wrap the trophy, however you wrap it, the trophy has that peculiar shape and it shows in the x-ray. So people ask me to remove it and show it to them and I tell them Oscar hai (It is the Oscar). And they say, 'yes yes, we want to see it,' and I tell them, 'sir it is wrapped.', but they say, 'nikaal ke dikhaao, dekhna hai (remove it and show, we want to see)', and then they click pictures with it. Only after that I get the permission to go ahead (laughs).” Guneet has brought the Oscar pride to India twice. While her 'The Elephant Whisperers' emerged as the winner at the 95th Academy Awards making it a maiden victory for India in the Documentary Short Subject category. Guneet's 2019 production venture 'Period. End of Sentence' too had bagged the Oscar in the Documentary Short Subject.
