NEET UG 2025 Preparation Myths: The NEET UG exam is one of the toughest medical entrance exams in India, and each year lakhs of aspirants try hard to score a good rank. In such an atmosphere, there are various myths floating that have been misleading the students. Aspirants might have heard that the exam is for brillant minds, or solving previous year question makes difference, among other myths.
But, now it’s a time to bust these myths and be more organised for the NEET UG preparation. Here are the top five preparation myths that you should not believe.
Lots of students go with the statement that studying for 12-14 hours each day will rank them well on the merit list. Consistency is very necessary. Spend quality time learning instead of sitting for hours to waste time; it is advisable to have a well-planned NEET UG schedule with intervals of revision, practice, etc.
Practice questions are necessary but solving question banks without any proper understanding of the concepts is futile. Most students focus only on question banks without paying heed to theory. NEET UG is based on concepts. One must study NCERT books thoroughly before trying to solve the problems. If one knows why an answer is correct or wrong, it further enhances the concept’s clarity.
Some students think that they can start dedicated preparation a few months before the exam, however, for NEET, the hard work goes on for months or in some cases a few years. Revision, solving mock tests, and improving weak areas form the last month’s agenda, but not fresh concepts from scratch.
Most of the students think that NEET is only meant for those brilliant minds. However, what matters in NEET is hard work, consistency, and a good strategy. Even an average student can crack NEET if planned and studied smartly. Even the toppers begin from scratch, but the discipline of the mind makes the difference.
Most students think that a time gap with social media, friends, or hobbies is essential for cracking NEET. Social media can sometimes be addictive and quite distracting. But spending time with friends and being active on social media act a way to avoid burnout. A balance is required, use social media for study purposes, and sometimes allocate time for hobbies, it can enhance concentration and productivity. Isolation is never the key.
Believing in myths can mislead NEET UG preparation. Concentrate on smart study techniques, concept clarity, and a balanced routine. Confidence and trust in preparation will prevent falling into such misconceptions.
