CBSE Class 10th Results 2023: Sanath Koundilia from Bengaluru knew he would score well but didn’t know he would top the region. Sanath secured 100 per cent marks in Maths, Science IT and Sanskrit followed by 99 in English and 98 in Social Science in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 exams, result of which was released on May 12.
Koundilia believes he didn’t go overboard with his preparation but felt the exams were easy. He feels that though the questions were from easy to moderate level, Science paper had questions from the Class 11 level— there were questions based on Redox reactions and Mathematics paper was tougher than pre-boards.
He even spotted a wrong question in one of his friend’s sets and believed bonus marks were given for the same.
Ever since his childhood, Koundilia had a keen interest in Mathematics and plans to take PCMC (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science) in Class 11. He aspires to be an engineer and study applied mathematics and delve deeper into the field of artificial intelligence and coding.
At present, he is preparing for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), IOQM (Indian Olympiad Qualifiers for Mathematics) and IChO (International Chemistry Olympiad). He plans to go camping for both the Olympiads and start coding during this summer break. Sanath wants to join IIT as it offers a variety of choices in applied science and mathematics.
His biggest source of inspiration is Swami Vivekanand as he believes that Vivekanada gave a simplified approach for all day-to-day problems and solutions to how to achieve your goals.
Son of two software engineers, Koundilia said that it is his love for Mathematics and Science that has led him to choose engineering as a career option. Sanath has also participated in various olympiads such as UIMO (Unified International Mathematics Olympiad) where he secured a rank of 30 as well as the Āryabhaṭa Ganit Challenge conducted by the CBSE where he was one of the toppers of the Bengaluru region.
Sanath’s father currently works as a software engineer with a multinational company, while his mother quit her job two years ago and became a homemaker so that she could focus on Sanath and his brother’s education.
A person of varied talents, Sanath is a senior in Carnatic Vocal Music and enjoys swimming and football as well. Currently, on his summer vacation, he prefers going to swimming practice in the morning and playing football in the evening. Though a player, he is not an ardent fan of watching football and supports Real Madrid as all his friends do.
