Another band enthralled city audiences,as JFK (Just For Kicks) played at The Loop Lounge on July 3. The JFK is a bunch of people playing music for fun and comprise of a classical rock bassist,a Steve Vai-inspired lead guitarist,a beat off drummer,a Kayne West lookalike rhythm guitarist and a vocalist who insists he’s in great shape. Among the band members are Reuel Joshua on drums,Thomas Daniel on vocals,Roger Daniel on lead guitars,Jacob Meshramkar on rhythm guitars and Keshav Iyengar on bass guitar. Reuel,Roger and Jacob have been part of MFX 1209 in the past and Roger,Keshav and Thomas were a part of Bun Maska Chai. Influenced by bands like Green Day,Puddle of Mud,Audioslave,Wolfmother etc,JFK have a taste for mixed genres. Their main genre remains alternative rock,classic rock and a bit of progressive rock.

Vibrant strokes
There is no medium that can depict the beauty and intricacies of life so vividly as art. And there are always different techniques to give expression to your vivid imagination. This is what one would notice in the Malaka Spice Art Exhibition. The exhibition showcases about 19 paintings by Sanjay Devsale. The paintings,in oil and acrylic colours have been intricately done on hand-made paper. The paintings revolve around the theme of familial bonding and one can see pictures like that of a mother and a child. The paintings are also open for purchase within a price range of Rs 4000 to Rs 10,000. The exhibition is being held at Malaka Spice,Koregaon Park and will continue till July 15.
