‘Was trying to avoid hitting two-wheeler’

He claimed the accident occurred because he swerved to avoid colliding with a two-wheeler,police said.

Two days after the accident on Pedder Road,the driver of Reliance Industries Limited-owned Aston Martin said in his statement that he was going to RIL CMD Mukesh Ambani’s home Antilla to park the car there. He claimed the accident occurred because he swerved to avoid colliding with a two-wheeler,police said.

Bansi Joshi approached the Gamdevi police station,claiming he was the driver of the vehicle. Police are yet to ascertain whether Joshi was at the wheel of the vehicle when the accident occurred.

Joshi,55,is a long time employee of RIL,police said. “He has been working for RIL for several years now. He told us that he was going to Antilla Sunday. He was speeding and swerved sharply to avoid colliding with a two-wheeler moving ahead of him and hit an Audi as a result,” said Assistant Police Inspector Ravindra Pawar of the Gamdevi police station. RIL spokesperson Tushar Pania confirmed that Joshi was heading to Antilla to park the vehicle there.
