But the failure of his last few films as a director, the last being Zamaana Deewana in 1995, led him to shift his focus on producing films — for son Rohan Sippy and other filmmakers under the banner RS Entertainment. After nearly two decades, Ramesh Sippy is set to return to film direction. The movie is a remake of a French film where a mother and daughter, who run a cafe in a hill station, fall in love with the same man. For a filmmaker known for his flair with star-studded and masala films in the ’70s, this sounds like an unconventional plot. According to sources, Sippy has already cast actor Rajkummar Rao in the lead role.
