Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka biography

Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, a prominent tribal politician from Rayagada, Koraput, Odisha, has emerged as a symbol of hope and progress for the people of his region. Born into a politically active family on January 1, 1979, she has carved a niche for himself in the political landscape of Odisha.

His political acumen is rooted in his family background. His father was a seven-time Rayagada MLA and a two-time Koraput MP. His mother, Ratnamani Ulaka, is an AICC member and the state vice president of Odisha Mahila Congress.

His entry into politics was marked by his election to the 17th Lok Sabha from Koraput, Odisha, in the 2019 Indian general election as a member of the Indian National Congress. He is currently the only member of the Odisha Congress in the Lok Sabha.

He has been a strong advocate for a High Court Bench in Undivided Koraput. He has also been pushing for the upgrade of the existing Jeypore airstrip into a full-fledged commercial airport, which is now scheduled for commercial operations by June 2022.
