IIT Kharagpur unveils ‘Impact RISE’ initiative for societal change

IIT-Kharagpur launches Young Innovators’ programme 2025-26

The event is divided into two groups: the Junior Division for Classes 8, 9, and 10, and the Senior Division for Classes 10, 11, and 12. Students in Class 10 can choose which category they want to compete in during registration.

The competition will begin with an online first round, from which the top teams from India and overseas will be selected.

The deadline for online submissions for the 7th YIP is November 30.

The agreement was recently signed at TU Darmstadt, Germany, in the presence of a delegation led by Suman Chakraborty, Director, IIT-Kharagpur, along with Ramanuj Banerjee, Counsellor (Science and Technology), Embassy of India, Berlin, and other officials.

Seven IITs which feature in the top 10 among Indian institutions in the QS Asia Rankings 2026 have seen a sharp fall in their ranks this year compared to last year. Five of them – IITs Delhi, Bombay, Madras, Kanpur, and Kharagpur – have recorded their lowest rank since at least 2021.
