Arya's accolades include two Filmfare Awards South and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, and a place on the 2015 Forbes India Celebrity 100 list. His breakthrough came portraying anti-hero roles in Arinthum Ariyamalum (2005) and Pattiyal (2006), showcasing his range. The role of an Aghori in Bala's Naan Kadavul (2009) earned him critical recognition.
