Ahmedabad/Bengaluru/Mumbai, Feb 18 (ANI): The Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad members in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata took to streets to protest against the 'anti-national' sentiments that have risen from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Members of ABVP from Ahmedabad raised slogans against those who supported the anti-national elements in JNU. An ABVP leader said they will continue their protests till the anti-nationalists are punished. In Bengaluru, the student took out a 'Tricolor march'. A protestor of ABVP in Bengaluru said they condemn the act of central universities rising to support the anti-national slogans raised in JNU. Suresh Chhara arrested for allegedly attacking journalist Revati Laul

Ahmedabad, Jan 21 (ANI): Gujarat riots convict Suresh Chhara, who was out on parole, was arrested in Ahmedabad on Thursday for allegedly attacking journalist Revati Laul. Laul, who is writing a book on the convicts in the 2002 Naroda Patiya massacre case, said she was attacked by Chhara when she went to house in Naroda area of Ahmedabad late on Wednesday evening for interviewing him. Chhara has been convicted to 31 years in prison for his involvement in the Naroda Patiya massacre, in which 97 people were killed during the 2002 communal riots. He was out on parole.

Journalist Revati Laul allegedly attacked by Gujarat riots convict

Ahmedabad, Jan 21 (ANI): A convict in the Gujarat riots case, out on parole, allegedly assaulted a journalist in Ahmedabad on Wednesday evening, when she met him for an interview. Revati Laul, who is writing a book on 2002 Naroda Patiya massacre case convicts, alleged that she was punched and slapped by Suresh Chhara. She said she was questioning him at his house in the Naroda area of Ahmedabad during an interview. She added that she managed to escape after Chhara's son and some neighbours intervened. Laul was treated at a government hospital, and later she lodged a complaint at the Vejalpur police station.
