Former Ambassador of India to Japan Sujan Chinoy, Consul General in Mumbai Koji Yagi, Kaoru Saito, Chairman, The Hamamatsu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mukesh Patel, Honorary Consul of Japan in Ahmedabad, and other business leaders from Japan and Gujarat also attended the function.
ON THE 50th Anniversary of the Indo-Japan Friendship association and the first anniversary of the friendship partnership between Shizuoka Prefecture and Gujarat State as Sister states and Ahmedabad and Hamamatsu as Sister Cities, the Hamamatsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) and the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Economic Cooperation on Tuesday to formalise and further the Sister City Partnership between Ahmedabad and Hamamatsu.
The Japan delegation was led by Hiraki Sho, Vice Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture and Yusuke Nakano, Mayor of Hamamatsu City.
“The friendship agreement between Shizuoka Prefecture and Gujarat state was signed in December, 2024. Through this, we aim to foster exchanges in several fields including economic, tourism and culture,” said Vice Governor Sho.
