The Election Commission has extended the deadline for submitting enumeration forms in the Special Intensive Revision in 12 states and UTs. The draft roll will now be published on December 16, with the final roll being released on February 14, 2026. The reason for the change was not mentioned. The SIR exercise has deviated from the usual process of annual updates and will now be done afresh.
