Singer and actor Sophie Choudry has carved a distinct niche for herself in the entertainment industry. In addition to appearing in Bollywood films such as Shaadi No. 1 (2005), Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006), and Kidnap (2008), she has also become a highly sought-after host for live shows, corporate events and high-profile weddings. Recently, Sophie shared a backstage picture with American pop sensation Jennifer Lopez from the wedding of Netra Mantena and Vamsi Gadiraju in Udaipur. Under the post, a fan questioned how she managed to sustain her career in Bollywood despite having “no movies, no web shows, not even songs.”

Taking to her X handle, Sophie posted a picture with JLo and wrote, “Jennifer Lopez…An artist I absolutely adore and am hugely inspired by since more than 2 decades!! Her on stage fire, her discipline , her music videos, her style, so many of her movies…just Iconic!” After a fan questioned Lopez’s dress sense at 56, she shared a video of the pop singer’s stage performance and replied, “Ummm…She looks better than most 20 year old performers! If she can carry it off and her fans don’t have a problem with it, what’s yours??”

Under Sophie Choudry’s photo with Jennifer Lopez, a fan asked her what keeps her going in Bollywood despite not featuring in films or web shows in recent times. The person asked, “Yaar Sophie mujhe aaj tak nahi samajh mein aata how have you survived Bollywood bina kaam ke. No movies, nN web show, not even as songs. We have only seen you in bits & pieces then how have you survived #bollywood??”

Sophie didn’t hesitate in giving a befitting reply to the user. “Through the live show market. Been one of the busiest live singer performers for 17 years for corporate and wedding shows, am the number 1 female host for live events. Just because you don’t see me on screen doesn’t mean I haven’t made my place elsewhere. In India unless you are in the top 10 actresses you don’t make money. I realised that a long long time ago and thank God for that,” she wrote on X.

Sophie Choudry has also hosted shows for MTV India. She is a trained dancer and a social media influencer, with over 2 million followers on Instagram.
