Ali Asgar, famous as Dadi from Comedy Nights With Kapil, moved the Bombay High Court on Friday and was granted anticipatory bail for a week, allowing him to move a court in Haryana.
Following the arrest of his co-actor Kiku Sharda, actor Ali Asgar moved the Bombay High Court on Friday (Janaury 15) and was granted anticipatory bail for a week, allowing him to move a court in Haryana.
The case is in relation to an FIR filed against him for allegedly “hurting religion sentiments” by mimicking Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
Justice AS Gadkari granted him the reprieve. “In the event of arrest, either by the Maharashtra Police or Civil Lines Police in Haryana, the applicant should be released on furnishing a bond of Rs 25,000 with one or two solvent surities in the like amount,” Justice Gadkari ordered. “The television show had no intention to hurt anybody’s religious or personal feelings,” he argued in his anticipatory bail plea filed by his lawyer Shyam Keswani.
