Wazir box office collections: Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar film earns Rs. 21.01 in opening weekend
Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar starrer 'Wazir' has shown an upward trend and has collected a total Rs. 21.01 cr. in its opening weekend.

Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar starrer ‘Wazir’, which released on Friday (January 8) with mixed reviews, has shown an upward trend in its box office collections during the weekend. Due to positive word of mouth, the Bejoy Nambiar directed suspense thriller has collected a total Rs. 21.01 cr. in its opening weekend.

‘Wazir’, which has been putting up well at the premium plexes of metros, earned Rs. 5.57 cr on its opening day on Friday (January 8), and has shown growth on Saturday and Sunday. The film’s box office business jumped to 28.55% on Saturday (January 9). The film earned Rs. 7.16 cr. on Saturday (January 9) and Rs. 8.24 cr. on Sunday (January 10) which takes the total collection of the film to Rs. 21.01 cr.

The movie also saw a decent growth in the international market as well. There was 55% growth in the USA-Canada, 73% growth in UK and 83% growth in Singapore market and had collected Rs. 7.36 cr. in two days of its release. The total overseas collection of the movie in its opening weekend is Rs. 10.48 cr. till now.

Wazir has passed the weekend test but now is the crucial time for the film when it is in theatres during weekdays.

The script of the film has been penned down jointly by Abhijat Joshi and Vidhu Vinod Chopra and also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham in pivotal roles.
