Amol Palekar to return to television

Veteran actor Amol Palekar, who has acted in some of the most iconic films like ‘Golmaal’, is all set to return to Indian Television. The actor, who has directed as well as produced films, will be seen on the small screen in the upcoming Hindi TV show ‘Roshni… Ek Nayi Ummid’.

‘Roshni… Ek Nayyi Ummid’ is a medical drama based on the backdrop of clash of ideologies within the family. While the titular role of Roshni is played by Pooja Gaur, Amol Palekar too will be seen as a doctor in this drama that will go on air very soon. Amol Palekar, who has previously been a part of many TV series like ‘Kachchi Dhoop’ and ‘Aa Bail Mujhe Maar’, will be associated with a commercial channel for the first time.

Talking about his early stints in television and reminiscing his days of working with Doordarshan, Amol Palekar is glad that he got an opportunity with a new team and is extremely glad about his role. However, he further adds that he will be a part of the series only if it continues to remain realistic and wouldn’t succumb to the pressure of too much commercial drama.

Amol Palekar also revealed that it is important to educate the masses about the medical profession and the serial will focus on various health issues along with human drama.
