What’s your ‘WhatsApp Down’ joke for the day? (Source: Pixabay/Twitter)
Hit by a major breakdown, the messaging app WhatsApp stopped working for about an hour and millions of people from across the globe were left anxious. The hefty bog down of the Facebook-owned app became a talking point on all other networking websites for more than an hour as people were unable to send or receive messages. What called for confusion and chaos was that the app was easily opening and showing all the contacts. However, one someone started chatting, it displayed a “connecting” message which didn’t load for over half an hour.
With all the hullabaloo over it, #WhatsAppDown started trending on Twitter, and social media users couldn’t help but sprinkle some humour and sarcasm into the matter. Even after the service was resumed, the micro-blogging site was overflowing with ‘WhatsApp Down’ jokes. Author Chetan Bhagat also joined in with his pun and wrote: “The reason for #WhatsAppDown could be an Indian engineer working there. His girl blocked him and he went ‘le phir, main block to sab block’.”

#WhatsAppDown This dumb piece of shit WhatsApp goes down worldwide and also deleted me from my family jokes group, the forwards of which I thoroughly enjoyed reading and I definitely didn’t exit the group myself, the app is so buggy, it was entirely Whatsapp’s fault.

There’s no difference for me whether whatsapp is down or not, the only messages that I get is from groups that I’ve muted for a year 🙃
