During the application process, candidates were allowed to select up to four preferred examination cities from within the states mentioned in their present and permanent addresses. The NTA stated that every effort will be made to allot candidates an examination city based on their preferences as indicated in the online application form. Missing JEE Main 2026 session 1 does not disqualify a candidate from the exam altogether. For foreign candidates taking JEE Main 2026 in the January session, the choice of cities will be based on their present and permanent addresses.
While applying for the JEE Main 2026, candidates were able to select up to a maximum of four cities of their choice within the states provided in their present and permanent address. All efforts will be made to allot the city of examination to the candidates in order of choice opted by them in their online JEE Main 2026 application form, NTA said, adding that due to administrative or logistic reasons, a different city can also be allotted.
