In a display of quick thinking, the Mumbai police recently rescued a stranded trekker using a makeshift stretcher fashioned from their own tracksuits. This heart-warming act has won the police widespread praise from netizens.
The incident unfolded at the Karnala Fort in Maharashtra’s Raigad district, where members of the police’s quick response team were descending after a training exercise. As they passed over the rugged terrain, they encountered a woman trekker lying injured, with a suspected fractured leg. With no immediate medical assistance available and the challenging terrain obstructing the use of a stretcher, the police officers sprang into action.
The QRT members quickly transformed their tracksuits into a makeshift stretcher. They carefully secured the woman onto the contraption and began the two-hour descent back to the base camp.
Upon reaching the base camp, the woman was transferred to a hospital. The police documented the rescue mission in a video that was later shared on their official Instagram handle.
