Mahayuti VS MVA: The Maharashtra local body elections have shaped up as a contest between the ruling Mahayuti and the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The Mahayuti, which governs the state, includes the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party. The MVA comprises the Congress, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP), along with other partners. The first phase of Maharashtra local body elections for 222 municipal councils and 42 nagar panchayats is currently on. The voting began Tuesday morning.

Pune Local Body Election 2025 LIVE Updates: What's the update on voting percentage at Lonavala
Lonavala Municipal Council (LMC) polls has recorded 39 per cent voting till 1.30 pm.
The total number of voters is 48,000.
The chief electoral officer Ashok Sable says that, so far, no complaint has been received regarding missing names.
LMC has 27 councillors.
Polling in two seats has been postponed to December 20. The counting of votes will take place on Dec 21.

Voter turnout in Pune district picked up through the morning Tuesday, reaching 20.22% in the first four hours of polling across 15 civic bodies. Vadgaon Maval reported the highest turnout at 28.33%, while Daund Nagar Parishad saw the lowest at 13.21%.
