Watching a potter shape and mould clay by spinning it on a wheel can be a satisfying thing to watch. Now one pottery video is raking in likes and views on Instagram for a different reason.

Brett Wulc, a popular studio potter from Portland in the US, recently shared a video in which he shows a compilation of his tall vases and pots collapsing after he cuts them from the potter’s wheel.

This clip has gathered over 17 lakh likes since it was posted on July 9. Many people commented on the conflicting yet soothing emotions evoked by the clip. An Instagram user wrote, “This is the most satisfying yet unsatisfying thing I’ve ever seen”. Another user wrote, “i’m angry and relaxed at the same time”.

Another user said, “There are so many videos of people destroying things just for views like throwing glass jugs down stairs or putting stuff in a wood chipper and it’s so wasteful. That’s why I love this he can just reform the pot and it is interesting to watch”.

Interestingly, many people also commented about how Brett Wulc looked like British singer-songwriter Freddie Mercury and, according to some others, the satirical fictional character of Borat Margaret Sagdiyev, played by actor Sacha Baron Cohen.

Referring to Borat’s character, another person wrote, “You look a lot like a certain reporter from glorious nation of Kazakhstan”. “Why is everyone talking about Borat when this man is clearly Freddie Mercury,” another Instagram user wrote.
