JK Rowling’s magical world Harry Potter is all set to come back with a TV series on HBO. The author of the books announced that the production house is looking for new generation Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger, and Ron Weasley.
The ‘open casting call’ is looking for children from the United Kingdom and Ireland under the age group 9-11. “Open casting call for children to play the roles of Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley in the upcoming HBO Original series adaptation of ‘Harry Potter’,” the note read.
“We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting, For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to ethnicity, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other basis protected by law unless otherwise specifically indicated,” the note said.
Sharing the same, Rowling wrote, “So, this is happening.”

The announcement sent a frenzy among Harry Potter fans. A fan wrote, “I hope you find the most incredibly talented and loving children who enjoy your stories! I would now like to identify as Professor Sprout or Professor McGonagall as a middle aged woman.” Another fan commented, “You’re a brilliant author. I’m happy to see people showing their appreciation for you.”
Harry Potter TV series will be bankrolled by Warner Bros Television and JK Rowling’s Bronte Film, as reported by Pedestrian. Mark Mylod will direct multiple episodes of the series in addition to executive producing, while Francesca Gardiner is the executive producer of the series, Deadline reported.
